Since 1955, our PTA has been working to enrich and support the school life of every student and parent. The PTA consists of both parents and school staff.

We provide opportunities for parents to participate in the life of the school as well as sponsor social events to bring parents, teachers and families together to enhance the sense of community.

Membership is open to any adult in our school community. Fees are currently $10 per person. Each membership includes a copy of our school directory that is completed early in the school year.

As a member of the PTA, you are supporting the wonderful programs, activities and events that enrich our community. You may exercise your voting privileges at our PTA general meetings that are held throughout the school year. During these meetings we discuss and vote on the direction and future of our PTA and its programs. Beyond our own school, when you join the PTA, you become a part of a group of over 1 million PTA members in California.

Please return a completed PTA form and your payment to the school office. Checks may be made payable to "El Carmelo PTA". Blank forms are also available in the office.

Executive Board Meetings

PTA executive board meetings are typically held once each month starting at 8:30 a.m. The meetings are open for interested parties to attend, but voting is limited to executive board members.

General PTA Meetings

General (association) PTA meetings are held at various times throughout the school year. The whole school community is invited to attend, but voting is limited to PTA members. During these meetings, the recording secretary takes minutes and after the minutes are approved at the next general meeting, they will be posted on this web site.
